The Production of High-Added-Value Bioproducts from Non-Conventional Biomasses: An Overview

In recent decades, biomasses from different industrial segments have created new interesting perspectives, including sustainable development. Moreover, reusing waste, such as biomass, also impacts the economy, i.e., circular economy. The main and their applications are evident in energy, food, chemistry, fine chemical, pharmaceutical sectors. Several questions should be asked regarding trending topic of biomass availability seasonality, energy demand (processes), real environmental impact. Thus, this review focuses on collected non-conventional (unusual technology at scale) food-processing residues, particularly 2016 to 2023, produce biomaterials and/or bioproducts for food sector.
